In the Hospital
Breathe deeply. Use your diaphragm to expel stale, old air and breath fresh renewed air into your body. Inhale through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Inhale expand the diaphragm, exhale drop ribcage down and let the belly come inward.
Ask your doctor what stretches/exercises are safe immediately following your c-section.
Request a prescription for physical therapy. Cesarean is major abdominal surgery. Private appointments with us can help when you are approved for exercise.
Start walking as soon as possible. Begin by walking to the window in your room and then down the hall, slowly adding distance.
Ask for manual core support: either a binder or a wrap to help support + stabilize during cesarean recovery.
